Illustrated book containing the names of 910 women who subscribed to a collection to purchase a portrait painting of Gwenllian Morgan (1852-1939), commemorating her becoming Mayor of Brecon (1910-11). She was the first female Mayor in Wales and second in Britain. Gwenllian was also the first woman in Wales to serve on a town council. She was a prominent educationalist, local historian and supporter of advancement for women. Gwenllian had a great interest in the poet Henry Vaughan and collaborated on an unfinished book dedicated to his life and work. Llyfr â darluniau’n cynnwys enwau’r 910 o ferched a danysgrifiodd i gasgliad i brynu paentiad o Gwenllian Morgan (1852-1939), er mwyn gwneud coffâd am iddi ddod yn faer Aberhonddu ym 1910-11. Maer benywaidd cyntaf Cymru oedd hi, a’r ail ym Mhrydain.Gwenllian Morgan, oedd y fenyw gyntaf i wasanaethu ar gyngor dref a dal swydd Maer. Roedd yn addysgwraig o fri, hanesydd lleol ac yn gefnogwr hyrwyddo hawliau merched. Roedd ganddi ddiddordeb mawr yng ngwaith y bardd Henry Vaughan a chydweithiodd ar lyfr heb ei orffen a oedd wedi’i gyflwyno i’w fywyd a’i waith.
