1. About Lluniau StoriPowysLluniau StoriPowys is home to the digital collections of Powys County Council’s Museums, Libraries and Archives. Images available to download include old photographs, museum objects, letters, and ephemera curated by a team of dedicated staff and volunteers. Most of the images can be purchased for personal use, where copyright allows.

2. How to search for imagesEach image has been chosen to showcase the collections and tell the story of each region. The descriptions often include the historic context and significance of the images. The site can be explored in a variety of ways, users can:

Tips for searching by datePrehistoric items have been given a date of ‘1’. This is to allow the date slider to cope with the huge span of time that our collections cover. (Every item requires a date for it to found). You can find these items by using the term ‘prehistoric’. See specific search terms for historic periods below:
