Gabriel Powell (1675-1735) was steward under two Dukes of Beaufort, who held extensive lands in Brecknockshire. He also became Bailiff of the corporation of Brecon in the 18th century. He is shown here holding the town charter. Buried in Brecon Cathedral, he was a strenuous defender of the rights of the town. Roedd Gabriel Powell (1675-1735) yn stiward o dan ddau Ddug Beaufort, a ddaliai diroedd helaeth yn Sir Frycheiniog. Hefyd, daeth yn Feili i gorfforaeth Aberhonddu yn y 18fed ganrif. Fe’i dangosir yma yn dal siartr y dref. Wedi ei gladdu yn Eglwys Gadeiriol Aberhonddu, roedd yn amddiffynnydd llafurus dros hawliau’r dref.
