The Burial in Wool Acts of 1667 and 1678 were intended to support the wool trade and laid down that all corpses should be buried in wool and no other material. A relative of the deceased was required to swear an affidavit, which was recorded in the parish registers, within 8 days of the burial to state that a 'woollen burial' had taken place, or else a £5 fine was incurred. Bwriad Deddfau Claddu mewn Gwlân 1667 a 1678 oedd cefnogi'r fasnach wlân. Roedd yn manylu bod yn rhaid i bob corff gael ei gladdu mewn gwlân a dim arall. Roedd yn rhaid i un o berthnasau'r ymadawedig lofnodi affidafid, a fyddai'n cael ei gofnodi yng nghofrestri'r plwyf, o fewn 8 diwrnod o'r claddedigaeth, i ddatgan bod claddedigaeth mewn gwlân wedi digwydd, neu byddai'n rhaid talu £5 o ddirwy.
