Metal police whistle c.1930s. Issued to Keith ‘Taff’ Williams when he first joined the Mid Wales Constabulary in November 1967. Developed in the 19th century as an alternative to rattles, whistles allowed officers to call for aid from fellow constables and could be used to alert civilians or suspects. Chwiban heddlu metel oddeutu’r 1930au. Rhoddwyd i Keith ‘Taff’ Williams pan ymunodd â Heddlu Canolbarth Cymru ym mis Tachwedd 1967. Datblygwyd chwibanau yn y 19eg ganrif yn lle ratlau, ac roedden nhw hefyd yn caniatáu i swyddogion alw am gymorth gan gwnstabliaid eraill a gellid eu defnyddio i rybuddio’r bobl gyffredin neu rywun a ddrwgdybir.
