This collection box, shaped like a Bible, was for donations to missionary work overseas. It was made locally in 1917 for the now demolished Tabernacle Congregational Chapel at Defynnog. The initials on the spine stand for London Missionary Society and the Welsh inscription reads ‘Christ to the world and the world to Christ’. Roedd y blwch casglu hwn, mewn siâp Beibl, ar gyfer rhoddion i waith cenhadol tramor. Fe’i gwnaed yn lleol ym 1917 ar gyfer Capel Annibynwyr y Tabernacl yn Nefynnog, sydd bellach wedi cael ei ddymchwel. Mae’r llythrennau cyntaf ar y meingefn yn sefyll am London Missionary Society ac fe welwch yr arysgrif yn Gymraeg 'Crist/Ir Byd/Ar Byd/I/Grist'.
