This miniature chest is thought to have been made in Brecon during the 18th century. Called a ‘coffor bach’ in Welsh, it may have been used to store a Bible or important household documents. The chest belonged to Thomas Price who worked for Coppage & Sons, Ironmongers, in Brecon during the early 20th century. Credir bod y gist fechan hon wedi ei gwneud yn Aberhonddu yn ystod y 18fed ganrif. Gelwid yn ‘goffor bach’, ac mae’n bosibl ei bod wedi ei defnyddio i gadw Beibl neu ddogfennau cartref pwysig. Roedd y gist yn eiddo i Thomas Price a fuodd yn gweithio i haearnwerthwyr Coppage & Sons yn Aberhonddu ar ddechrau’r 20fed ganrif.
