This is an early 19th century Welsh dresser typical of South Wales with three shelves and five drawers. Originally, dressers were used to store kitchen items such as plates, but over time and especially in Wales they became a way of displaying and showing off tableware and ornaments for the benefit of visitors. Dyma ddresel Gymreig o ddechrau’r 19eg ganrif sy’n nodweddiadol o dde Cymru gyda thair silff a phum drôr. Yn wreiddiol, defnyddiwyd dreseli i storio eitemau cegin megis platiau, ond dros amser ac yng Nghymru yn enwedig, daethant yn ffordd o arddangos a dangos llestri bwrdd ac addurniadau er budd ymwelwyr.
