Pulpit chairs were used by religious ministers and preachers in Wales to address audiences in barns or in the open air. The chair, from the early 19th century, has a rear ledge attached to it for a Bible or for speaking notes. Back in the home, the pulpit could serve as an ordinary chair. Defnyddiwyd cadeiriau pulpud gan weinidogion a phregethwyr yng Nghymru i annerch cynulleidfaoedd mewn ysguboriau neu yn yr awyr agored. Mae gan y gadair hon o ddechrau’r 19eg ganrif silff gefn ynghlwm wrthi ar gyfer Beibl neu nodiadau ar gyfer siarad. Yn ôl yn y cartref, gellid defnyddio’r pulpud fel cadair gyffredin.
