Gloves were an expensive luxury in the 16th and 17th centuries and a symbol of wealth and status. They were usually made from the finest kid leather, lined with silk and decorated with jewels, lace and fine embroidered motifs. This example is decorated with animals and trees in coloured silks, silver-gilt thread and seed pearls. Mid-17th century c.1625. Roedd menig yn eitemau moethus a drud yn yr unfed ganrif ar bymtheg a'r ail ganrif ar bymtheg ac yn symbol o gyfoeth a statws. Fe'u gwnaed fel arfer o'r lledr croen gafr gorau, wedi'u leinio â sidan ac wedi'u haddurno â thlysau, lace a motifau wedi'u brodio'n fân. Mae'r enghraifft hon wedi'i haddurno ag anifeiliaid a choed mewn sidan lliw, edau arian-ac aur a pherlau hadau. Canol yr ail ganrif ar bymtheg
