The No. 2 Ordinary Bicycle was manufactured by the Rudge Cycle Co Ltd, Coventry, around 1888. This early bicycle popularised cycling in the towns and villages of Brecknockshire. It was nicknamed ‘penny farthing’ because the relative sizes of the front and back wheels resembled the Victorian penny and farthing (quarter of a penny) coins. Gweithgynhyrchwyd y Beic Cyffredin Rhif 2 gan Rudge Cycle Co Ltd, Coventry, tua 1888. Fe wnaeth y beic cynnar hwn boblogeiddio beicio yn nhrefi a phentrefi Sir Frycheiniog. Cafodd y llysenw 'penny farthing' oherwydd bod meintiau cymharol yr olwynion blaen a chefn yn debyg i ddarnau arian Fictoraidd y geiniog a’r ffyrling (chwarter ceiniog).
