This 19th century cast-iron door for a domestic oven was made in the Ynysgedwyn Ironworks, Ystradgynlais. Its well-designed details include a brass handle and a large crane bird. The crane was the trademark used by George Crane, a leading ironmaster, who came to Ystradgynlais in the 1820s and developed innovative ironmaking techniques. Gwnaed y drws popty haearn bwrw hwn yng Ngwaith Haearn Ynysgedwyn, Ystradgynlais yn y bedwaredd ganrif ar bymtheg. Fe’i gwnaed ar gyfer ffwrn gartref ac mae ei fanylion celfydd yn cynnwys dolen bres ac aderyn garan mawr. Y crëyr oedd y nod masnach a ddefnyddiwyd gan George Crane, haearnfeistr blaengar a ddaeth i Ystradgynlais yn yr 1820au hwyr a datblygu technegau gwneud haearn arloesol.
