This ornate carved bed, made around 1590, is said to have been slept in by King Charles I during his visit to Brecon on 6th August 1645. Charles was trying to get support from powerful people in Brecknockshire after his defeat at the Battle of Naseby during the Civil War. Dywedir y cysgodd Brenin Siarl I yn y gwely cerfiedig addurnedig hwn, a wnaed oddeutu 1590, yn ystod ei ymweliad ag Aberhonddu ar 6 Awst 1645. Roedd Siarl yn ceisio ennill cefnogaeth gan bobl bwerus yn Sir Frycheiniog yn sgil ei orchfygiad ym Mrwydr Naseby yn ystod y Rhyfel Cartref.
