This lace cap is from the late 19th century and most likely worn by an older lady or widow. It may also be a dinner cap. The lace is off-white and machine netted with a floral motif. The purple ribbon is of weighted silk and is now beginning to shatter. Frills of gathered lace and ribbon pile on top with two layers of lace draping at the back. This cap was donated with an oval straw box which is lined with a soft pink silk. Cas gwellt gyda chap les. Mae’r cap les hwn yn dyddio o ddiwedd y 19eg ganrif, ac mae’n debyg taw dynes hŷn neu weddw fyddai wedi ei gwisgo. Hefyd gall fod yn gap cinio. Lliw llwydwyn yw’r les ac fe’i wnaethpwyd ar beiriant, gyda motiff blodau. Gwnaethpwyd y rhuban porffor o sidan trwm, ac mae’n dechrau dryllio bellach. Mae ffriliau les crychog a rhuban ar y pen, gyda dwy haen o les yn syrthio yn y cefn. Rhoddwyd y cap hwn gyda blwch gwellt hirgrwn gyda leinin sidan pinc esmwyth.
