Pair of men's leather boots. John White, 1945, size 10. British Army Officer Field Boots. These boots have been designed with the gaiter combined within the boot replacing the lower ankle boot and giving greater protection to the upper calf. Made of sturdy brown leather the lower part is laced and the upper has a double buckled gaiter. The sole is very thick with steel pins and iron shod heel. It is possible these were worn by a local Welshpool officer during World War 2. Pâr o esgidiau lledr dyn. John White, 1945, maint 10. Esgidiau Maes Swyddog yn y Fyddin Brydeinig. Dyluniwyd yr esgidiau hyn gyda’r socasau yn rhan o’r esgid, yn lle’r esgid hyd at y pigwrn, oedd yn diogelu croth uchaf y goes yn well. Fe’u gwnaethpwyd o ledr brown cadarn, mae careiau ar y darn gwaelod, ac mae socas gyda bwcl dwbl ar y darn uchaf. Mae’r gwadnau’n drwchus iawn gyda phigau dur a sawdl haearn. Mae’n bosibl iddyn nhw gael eu gwisgo gan swyddog lleol o’r Trallwng yn ystod yr Ail Ryfel Byd.
